Guess Who Else is in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

This article contains Batman v Superman spoilers.

This weekend, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stands at an interesting pop culture crossroads. Critically exiled to the depths of low Rotten Tomatoes scores that are usually reserved for the latest Transformers movie, and also suffering from a relatively low CinemaScore from audiences with a “B,” the film is nevertheless a massive box office success story. The film is projected to open at over $170 million this weekend, making it the biggest opening for a DC…

We’ve been telling you for months that we hear Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s Lights Out is testing through the roof. We now have a taste in the above trailer that’s pretty damn impressive.

David F. Sandberg directed from a screenplay by Eric A. Heisserer’s (The Thing, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Final Destination 5), which was based on Sandberg’s 2013 short film. The short, which is super fun, doesn’t have any substance, and I…

Watch: Ford GT prepped for Le Mans in latest documentary series

This five-part weekly series shows Ford’s push to Le Mans

Fifty years ago, Ford famously took all three podium positions at Le Mans. It was the first time an American automaker had claimed an overall victory, completely dominating the event. Eventually Ford lost traction with its road racing program, and the GT40 became a piece of racing lore. Despite the GT’s return in 2005, it wouldn’t become a full-fledged racing machine until this year’s shot at Daytona.

Although it wasn’t successful at Daytona, the GT showed…

While TV’s newest superhero series Supergirl isn’t quite a breakout hit (despite its solid premiere ratings), the CBS show starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El does have a fervent and loyal fanbase. Microsoft's AI Tay offends and goes offline; Deepdrumpf AI snarks

Artificial Intelligence is tricky stuff. When it works right, it does amazing things like thrash the World Champion Go player by winning four games to one in a $1 million tournament. When it goes wrong, well, that’s a whole different story, and Microsoft’s recent experiment with an AI chatbot named Tay that interacted (note the past tense) with users on Twitter, Kik, and GroupMe, is a great example.

VW Misses Initial Deadline For US Diesel Fix, Gets Extention For April 21

In February, US District Judge Charles Breyer ruled that “six months is long enough” for VW to come up with a diesel emissions fix, but the automaker failed to comply.

The initial deadline expired on Thursday, March 24, and Breyer gave Volkswagen and US regulators until April 21 to come up with a plan.

If no deal is reached by that date, the judge will consider holding a trial this summer about the 580,000 diesel-powered vehicles that were sold in the US and equipped with emissions cheating devices found to emit up to…

U.S. iPhone users spent an average of $35 on apps last year, most of it on games

U.S. iPhone users spent an average of $35 on apps during 2015, according to research by Sensor Tower. Of that amount, $25, or 71 percent, was spent on games.

The research is based on 110 million iPhones that were in active use in the U.S. last year, according to Sensor Tower and data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. The surprising part is how much more was spent on games compared to the second-highest grossing category.

On average, games accounted for $25 per person, while music was second at $3.40 per…

Comment on Act of Aggression? Is that the one with the tanks? by Chubzdoomer

Act_of_Aggression_1

I hate to put it this way, because it’s hardly fair, but Act of Aggression is a competent game that does everything mostly right that I have zero desire to play. It has very little personality and almost no identity of its own. Which, really, isn’t such a bad thing. There are plenty of terrible games about which this is also true. Why should I also be dismissive of a perfectly competent game that also happens to be bland and forgettable?

How to Use Multiple Desktops in Windows 10

Multiple desktops in Windows let you separate program windows into different groups. You might have all your files related to one project open in one desktop, for example, and programs and files related to a different project in another desktop. Microsoft added virtual desktops to Windows 10 for this multi-tasking organization. Here’s how to set it up.

Comment on Play the best game of 2006 on your Playstation 4 by giygas

bully_PS4

Well, well, well, look what showed up today on the Playstation Store! Rockstar’s Bully is now available for $15. The text implies it’s a direct port of the Playstation 2 version, which was available as part of the classics catalog for the PS3. I’m not sure how it might compare to the sketchy remastered edition for the Xbox 360, but surely Sony and Rockstar took the time to do right by the best game of 2006.

Okay, now let’s get Red Dead Redemption playable on my PS4.

After the jump, is Bully really the best game…

Game of Thrones: Sophie Turner Wants Sansa Stark to Die

It’s not often that actors wish their characters to be killed off popular TV shows. But then again most TV shows aren’t Game of Thrones.

Indeed, as the HBO flagship ramps up toward its sixth season, folks are excited about learning the fate of Jon Snow, seeing the return of Bran Stark… and finding out who will die. It could even be argued Game of Thrones is beloved for killing more popular characters in its saga than the entire casts of other hit cable shows. Thus Sophie Turner has an intriguing wish for her…

Fallout 4: Automatron DLC Review

Game Details
Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
More Info: Fallout 4

I’m truly thankful for two things about Fallout 4‘s Automatron DLC. Firstly, it’s given me an excuse to dive back into Fallout 4, which I’m really rather enjoying because I’ve been wanting to spend more time with it for awhile now. Secondly, it lets me build giant death robots, which is almost as good as being able to fire bees at people.

Automatron is part way between Fallout 3 and New Vegas‘ huge, story-driven DLC…

Frontier’s LostWinds Blown Towards Steam

And now, from the developers of space-sim Elite: Dangerous and the cartoony theme-park sim Planet Coaster, a colourful 2D platformer series about controlling the wind. Funny how diverse Frontier’s output is.

LostWinds [official site] and its sequel Winter of the Melodias came out in 2008 and 2009 for Wii. They found a positive reception, mostly thanks to their controls: players used gestures to manipulate the wind and almost push the flow of air in the direction they wanted. Both games have now appeared on Steam now,…

Play as humanity's janitor in episodic adventure game The Descendant

Descendant

I played The Descendant this week, the first episode of an adventure game series made by Swedish developer Gaming Corps. It’s got a bit in common with Fallout—it takes place post-apocalypse and involves survivors locked inside into subterranean vaults—but borrows a chunk of design from Telltale adventure games.

After global climate change leads to a world war over the planet’s remaining resources, only a few thousand survivors are left on Earth, packed into underground cryo-storage facilities known as…

Wes' Cool, Modernist San Fran Apartment — House Call

Name: Wes
Location: Golden Gate Heights — San Francisco, California

I live in a 700 square foot apartment, built in 1959, above Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

As a graphic designer, I’m heavily influenced by modernism’s purity and ideals, and I learned to appreciate nature as part of my California upbringing. My home is a combination of the two, for me. Rational, defined living spaces are warmed by wood accents and textural pieces.

Thanks,…
